Introductory Visit or Coordination of Care
If you would like to better understand how an integrative medicine approach can help you, or if you have questions about complementary therapies you are considering, this visit is right for you.

Problem Focused Visit with Exam
This visit will focus on your specific areas of interest, and includes a detailed follow up letter summarizing Dr. McClafferty's recommendationsbased on the most recent research in integrative medicine.
60 minutes
Comprehensive Consult, Exam, and Two Follow Up Visits
Your health will be discussed in-depth, with evaluation of nutrition, dietary supplements, exercise, sleep, lifestyle and stressors. Dr. McClafferty will develop an individual treatment plan with you based on the most recent research in integrative medicine and review it in detail at the first 60 minute follow up visit. The second follow up visit is designed to review progress and make any needed adjustments to your plan.
90 minutes initial plus 60 minute follow up visit
Preparation for Surgery or Cancer Treatment
This visit is focused on skills the individual needs to meet upcoming challenges successfully. Examples of topics covered include: how to maximize nutrition, choose the correct dietary supplements, effectively manage stress, minimize or eliminate side effects, and prepare for successful convalescence.
These sessions frequently include use of guided imagery and instruction in self-hypnosis, both of which have been clinically proven to improve outcome in many patients.

Mastering Stress Management Skills
Stress affects health in adults and in children in a myriad of ways, and has been associated with negative effects such as reduced immunity, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, as well as elevated blood pressure, heart disease, and weight gain. In addition to improving your health, effective stress management techniques can be invaluable in successful preparation for performance such as sports competition, theatre or public speaking, and in testing situations.
This is a personalized approach to effective stress management. Techniques are highly individualized, and may include: instruction in mindfulness and relaxation skills, breath work, biofeedback, and guided imagery/clinical hypnosis. Many sessions include recording of a personalized CD that you can use to reinforce your new skills.
